The Science - Technology Interface: Structural Biology (STI:SB) acts as a link between technology, research and translation. It supports and connects structural biologists and those who are interested in structural biology and its application in biomedical research.
STI:SB provides help for structural biology related projects from early on, gives advice on which structural biology technique(s) might be possible, identifies suitable project partners and assists in establishing new co-operations. Relevant medical/clinical topics include the understanding of health/disease/aging on a molecular scale, metabolism and signalling, rational drug design, screening for new types of ligands, target validation, side effects or resistance. STI:SB also provides help in data analysis, interpretation, 3D-reconstruction, modelling and visualisation. STI:SB is member of BioTechMed-Graz.
